Now in early beta for SuperGrok Heavy subscribers, Build Mode generates code and shows a live preview inside the Grok chat — then publishes the result to a shareable grok.me link or a custom domain.

xAI added a "Build" mode to Grok in late July 2026, announcing it via the official @grok account on July 28. It arrived in early beta and, for now, is limited to SuperGrok Heavy subscribers — the top xAI subscription tier, reported at around $300 a month. Users reach it through the mode switcher on grok.com and in the Grok apps for iOS and Android.
The premise is "vibe coding": describe what you want in plain language and Grok writes the code, then shows a working preview inside the chat window. You keep refining by prompting — adjust the layout, add a feature, restyle the interface — without installing anything, configuring an environment, or touching the underlying code. xAI says Build Mode can produce websites (landing pages, portfolios, company sites), apps (planners, trackers, calculators, simulators), games (arcade titles, puzzles, interactive 3D worlds), and interactive dashboards that can connect to a business's own data.
When a build is ready, you publish it to a grok.me link or bind it to a custom domain you own, then share that link with a team or anyone else. The move puts Grok squarely in the AI app-builder segment alongside Anthropic's Claude Artifacts, OpenAI's ChatGPT Codex, and Google's AI Studio, and extends the earlier Grok Studio canvas. xAI has not said when Build Mode will reach lower tiers or whether it will become a standalone product.
The gap Build Mode leaves is distribution. It hands you a live thing at a grok.me link, but a link is not content — nobody discovers your calculator or mini-game unless something in a feed sends them there. That top-of-funnel job is where Kompozy fits. The moment you have a published build, drop a short description of it — what it does, who it's for, the link — into Kompozy as a source, and it generates the launch set that points traffic at it: a demo-style short, a feature carousel built with HyperFrames, an X thread, a LinkedIn post, and an email to your list, all held to your voice by a Persona Brief.
Then Autopilot and the per-post review pipeline reframe each asset to 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9 and schedule it across eight social platforms plus blog and email from one queue — every post carrying the grok.me link. Build Mode makes the interactive experience; Kompozy makes the week of content that gets people to open it, and keeps that content on-brand and on-schedule without you assembling a separate editing, design, and scheduling stack.
It's a new mode in xAI's Grok that turns a plain-language prompt into a working website, app, game, or interactive dashboard. Grok writes the code and shows a live preview in the chat, and you iterate by prompting — no install or coding required. It launched in early beta in late July 2026.
At launch it's limited to SuperGrok Heavy subscribers — xAI's top tier, reported at roughly $300/month — via the mode switcher on grok.com and the iOS and Android apps. xAI hasn't announced when it will reach lower tiers. Confirm current pricing and access on xAI's site.
xAI lists websites (landing pages, portfolios), apps (planners, trackers, calculators, simulators), games (arcade, puzzle, 3D worlds), and interactive dashboards that can connect to business data. When finished, you publish to a shareable grok.me link or bind it to your own custom domain.
They share a name but are different products. Grok Build (0.1) is a developer-focused agentic coding model and terminal CLI. Build Mode is a no-code, in-chat "vibe coding" experience inside consumer Grok that previews and publishes an app for you.
